ideas

Thanks to my readers and friends who tell me to keep this blog up. I absolutely love to date my hubby and I've got so many idea's so keep coming back for more.
Love ya all!

Coin flippin

Get into your love mobile. Drive along. At each intersection you come to flip a coin. Heads turn right, Tails turn left. See where it takes you. Maybe decide before the date that you will eat at the 3rd resturaunt or food joint you come to. and you will stop at the 4th place of entertainment that you find. FUN!!! See where the evening takes you.

pumkin carve

This is such a fun one. Especially this time of year. Get a pumpkin and yes, carve it together. plan out what you will create, a face, a love message, etc. save the seeds and cook them up for a snack after the pumpkin is carved.

Yummy pumpkin seed recipe,
Pumpkin seeds (not washed)
teaspoon butter
teaspoon Season salt
teaspoon Worcester sauce
mix it all together and bake on low heat till done.

This date is fun to do with a watermelon as well in the summer season!

dancing

I love to dance but my hubby, not so much. This is a fun one cause there is no one there to dance for except each other.
Find an empty parking lot and turn it into a "Ballroom". Open up all the doors to your car, put on a CD of favorite slow songs and dance, kiss, dance, kiss, kiss, dance some more. Stay late have a picnic of desert on the hood of your car and watch the stars come out. Make sure you have lots of music and keep it going as long as you can. It adds to the mood!!

Hide & Seek

So fun with kids. BUT..... Way fun with your honey. Play the traditional game of hide and seek. set boundary's ( We play after the kids have gone to bed and don't want to play near them so they wont wake ). Fun it up by playing in the dark. Even funner and a little more scank.... Take off a piece of clothing each time it's your turn to hide. He he he aren't you guy's glad you read this blog :)

Float your love

A fun idea... Go to the store and pick out A Love themed Mylar balloon or several helium balloons. Take them some were fun. ( The spot you first met, the place you got engaged, were you shared your first kiss) write short love messages to each other on the balloon or balloons or just your initials (MH +JH ). Watch it float and fly away.

Love Link Letters

This one is lots of fun and sparks some great creativity.
first you will need lots of words printed on paper. You can use magazines or what I did is just type up some words I thought would work and printed them out onto paper. ( This part needs to be done before the date )
Now for the actual together time.... Sit down at the table. Each of you gets a fresh clean piece of paper. Cut out words and paste them onto your paper to create a love letter for each other. He-write one for you, You-write one for him. Rule is, You have to use the whole word. No cut and pasting letters here.
Talk to each other, eat some yummy goodies, laugh, enjoy each other. Then when you have cut and pasted your letters to your content. read them to each other.
We've done this and the letters turn out so funny. It's so interesting to see what comes of it. A letter to save and remember for a while.

A great idea for snacking on that night look Here

finders keepers

Just a fun idea for you, Yes I have played this one with my hubby, Stick a certain number of small stickers all over your body. If your celebrating a 30th birthday, use 30 stickers, 15th anniversary, use 15 stickers, etc. Try some difficult hiding places, in your belly button, behind your ear lobe. Tell your hubby that it is his job to find them all. I guarantee he will work to find ALL of them and love the whole game. Play away!!!!

Art Gallery

So you have to know that I am the most thrifty girl ever. Our dates don't usually cost much money and they are usually dates at home after the kiddo's are asleep in bed so that I don't have to pay a sitter :) Though I do splurge when occasion calls for it.

This last weekend we "Visited" an art gallery.
We started with Eight blank pieces of paper each titled something different having to do with our relationship. Some examples... Our love, First night, Eight years, Without you.
We set up an art studio ( table, chairs, art supplies) We divided the table in half so that we could not see each others art work. We each chose a paper with title randomly from a pile and had to draw, paint, color a picture for that title. This could last a while or be real quick depending on your love of creating. My hubby is the real quick type. After we had created the art we hung it around the room. We got out our wine and cheese you can't stroll a gallery without them :) We don't drink however so we had sparkling cider and added crackers to our cheese. We ate our treat and drank from fancy glassed as we strolled around interpreting and then explaining our art to each other. It was really fun to see what each of us had come up with.

Books in Bed

So I am really going to get going on this blog and post more idea's.

For Valentines day this year we planned a quick last minute date. We just had our forth baby at the end of January so our thoughts have been focused a lot on her.

So for a quick last minute date....
We went to the library and picked out some children's picture books brought them home and set up a little blanket with pillows on the floor ( a snuggle spot ) to read the stories to each other. You could also read them in bed together like "bed time" stories and make it even more fun with the lights off and a flash light. We got some fun treats to eat that would work well for the occasion, like nuts, grapes, chocolate kisses (things you could eat in bed and not make a mess). And of course with it being Valentines day we had to open a bottle of bubbly and read our special valentines love letters to each other.

We ended with a little wrestling on the floor in our blankets. (light wrestling, remember I just had a baby :) It was a lot of fun.

Thanks for the Valentine memory babe!
